Nimbus Choir

Point the camera at the sky. Every detected cloud gets tracked and classified into a soft, drifting pad — offline, on this device, with open-weight models only.

How it works

Every cloud the camera tracks becomes one voice in the choir, mapped straight from what the sky is doing. Try it below once you've read through.

Cloud type → timbre

Cirrus, cumulus, stratus and cumulonimbus each hum a different glassy, music-box voice.

Size → volume

Bigger clouds swell louder in the mix; small wisps stay a quiet chime in the background.

Height → pitch

Higher clouds ring higher notes; low, heavy cloud sits deeper in the pad.

Position → pan

A cloud's left-to-right drift across the frame pans its voice across the stereo field.

Forecast → tension

A short-term weather forecast sets how consonant or unsettled the whole piece feels.
